Habitat For Humanity Egypt Partnership– Sept. 2019- Present
WaterNow responded to a call from the Director of Habitat For Humanity Egypt (HFHE) , a part of Habitat for Humanity International. ‘Habitat Egypt started work in 1989, As a result of the efforts made over 30 years, Habitat Egypt Has Helped 38,000 families in 40 communities to date to Have a decent, simple, healthy and affordable houses, get access to water, and sanitation. The target beneficiaries are people with low income, vulnerable and marginalized groups.’
WaterNow met with HFHE; and partnered to provide filters for much needed clean water for their housing projects in-progress. The water coming from the majestic Nile River, is now polluted and can’t be used for drinking as it used to do in the past generations. Due to drought over the past years, rainwater catchment is not feasible, therefore water filtration is the top candidate for widespread clean water usage, so that plastic water bottles can be displaced as the only alternative – since it causes environmental damage and is not sustainable. We plan to go back for a Phase 2 in 2021, and supply hundreds more filters for regenerative water and housing systems.
